Congratulations Crawford Communities on winning the Reverse Raffle

Crawford Communities won the $2000 Grand Prize at the 2009 Reverse Raffle and Silent Auction on November 5th at the Venue at the Smith Brothers Building.

The event's proceeds benefit the CAA Community Assistance Foundation, which makes contributions to charities within the community. This year the Foundation Committee selected two organizations Red Cross Save the Day Program and the Faith Mission. Both of these charities will be invited to the Installation of Officers Dinner on December 10th.

At the beginning of the raffle, Brett Kaufman, CAA President welcomed members and announced the Foundation recipients. The Foundation will partner with the Red Cross in 2010, which will include communications with members and education for both members and our members' residents.

Next, Joey Thomas with George Thomas Contractor, Inc. took over the mic. Joey was accompanied by workgroup members Dee Williams with Willis Law Firm, LLC; Heather Primavera, Time Warner Cable and Mike Snyder, Dragoo and Associates. The group worked together to pull tickets and announce door prize winners. The last ticket remaining belonged to Crawford Communities.

Members enjoyed bidding on the Silent Auction items again this year. The CAA Board Members and the Foundation Committee donated unique items for bidding which increased the annual donations that will be made to the local charities. Auction items included a Wii fit, iPod Touch, a 46" Flatscreen TV among others.

Back again this year was the Coach purse raffle. Attendees were eager to purchase raffle tickets to try to win the Coach purse. The lucky winner Sharelne Spector. She was excited to win and couldn't wait to show it off. Several women are already plotting to steal it; the purse raffle was a real hit. Another big hit was the Tiffany bracelet raffle. John Roby with CORT won the bracelet and said it would be the perfect gift for his wife.

CAA members enjoyed mingling with each other while dinning on hors d'oeuvres sponsored by ABLE 444-ROOF, Apartments.com, Belfor USA, CORT, Columbus Apartment Guide, FABCO, HD Supply, Rescue Rooter, Rocky Fork Company, Select Services and Thompson Building Associates, Inc.

The event was a true success and Columbus Apartment Association thanks everyone who participated.
