From CPR, first aid and automated external defibrillator (AED) training to injury prevention courses, bloodborne pathogens training and community disaster preparedness education, Red Cross training offers complete, flexible programs that help your company stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation. First Aid/CPR/AED training courses combine lecture, demonstrations and video with hands-on training in a 'practice-while-you-watch' format. And because the American Red Cross is a member of the OSHA Alliance, you can be sure your employees are receiving the highest quality information and training available to help prevent injuries, illnesses and fatalities in the workplace.

The Red Cross strives to respond to the health and safety concerns of Americans in the workplace. Last year, over 40,000 area residents enrolled in American Red Cross preparedness and safety solution courses. Your American Red Cross offers:
Convenience. Classes can be scheduled at your facility or your American Red Cross chapter at a time that works for you-daytime, evenings and weekends.

  • Cost-effective training. Materials and instruction are provided at reasonable rates, whether you want one course or several.
Participant certification. Nationally-recognized course completion certificates are presented to participants who meet the course objectives.
  • Relief from record-keeping burden. Participant and instructor certification and recertification records are maintained at your local American Red Cross.
  • Train your staff or host a class for residents. Call us to discuss (614) 253-2740 ext. 2573 or www.columbus.redcross.org

Resident Newsletter: Learn how to save a life
If your child, spouse or friend choked or injured themselves while visiting you, would you know how to help? What if someone collapsed and stopped breathing? The American Red Cross offers classes that teach you how to care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. You will learn how to recognize a breathing or cardiac emergency in adults, infants and children and what to do to keep someone alive until help arrives. There are a variety of lifesaving classes for individuals to choose from. Visit columbus.redcross.org or contact 614.251.1444 for information.

The CAA Community Assistance Foundation has partnered with the Red Cross of Greater Columbus's Save the Day Program for 2010. The partnership includes communications with members and education for both members and our members' residents.
