Jeff Kaplan, Senior Vice President of Outreach and Engagement at OSU to speak at the September 18th General Meeting
Jeff Kaplan was named Senior Vice President of Outreach and Engagement in March of this year by Ohio State University President, Dr. E. Gordon Gee when a new organizational structure for Ohio State senior faculty members was announced in an effort to make Ohio State a more productive university.
Mr. Kaplan duties include the oversight of the administrative structure of Student Affairs in addition to oversight of Campus Partners. In this position Mr. Kaplan works with other outreach departments within the University in an effort to make OSU a more interconnected university.
The new organizational structure put in place by Dr. Gee allows the University to become more streamlined and allows for the Department of Athletics, the Office of Legal Affairs and Student Affairs to work closely together to improve general functionality and will lead to greater university achievements.
Mr. Kaplan shared some of his thoughts on the new position with OnCampus, a newspaper for university faculty and staff at Ohio State, “I want to stop and look at the area right around campus and help make that an exemplary part of the Ohio State experience,” Kaplan said.
“It’s important to improve that area so when faculty, staff and students come to Ohio State, they come not only for the academic excellence and the extracurricular activities that go on here, but also because of the overall environment and not despite the environment.”
