The Columbus Apartment Association (CAA) bus tour is an exclusive way for members, property managers, and industry professionals to peak behind the curtain at housing trends, new developments, and unique ideas happening in the Central Ohio market.
Bus tour attendees met at Galaxy at Polaris and boarded the bus to set off to 1289: A Rental Condo Community, the first stop. At 1289 attendees were broken into three groups to tour each space, including version of floor plans and a kids club amenity that set them apart from others. ServPro was on hand with breakfast treats, fruit and giveaways to welcome visitors, complete with to-go bags. Beautifully designed townhomes, gated entry and friendly staff set the complex separates this community from others.
After an exciting start attendees boarded the bus, generously provided by CAA member Homestead Companies, and set off to their second stop, armed with trivia and ready for friendly competition. The entertainment created by Bus Tour Chair, Benji Jackson proved crucial as the attendees were unexpectedly sidelined with a mechanical issue, but they were quickly rescued and on to the next. Congratulations to Ashley Golden from Oakwood on winning trivia.
The next stop was Redwood Powell, a community so new, it’s still partially under construction. Members of the Redwood staff and sponsor ServiceMaster by Neverman greeted everyone as they made their way off the bus and into the model filled with a mimosa bar and biscuit sandwiches. The model featured a patio with pergola and amenities including a pet wash station. Tour attendees perused the community receiving goody bags upon departure and ready to head to the third stop.
Just a short distance away, The Residences at Sara Crossing and sponsor ABLE Roofing & Exteriors embraced the fall theme with seasonal jellies and jams, a pumpkin patch, cider drinks and more. Divided into two groups, attendees toured two different floor plans, one including a screened in porch. Community highlights included bocce, lawn bowling, fire pits and more. Free to wonder the grounds for a few minutes after the tour camaraderie, jokes and fun in the sun were on tap before making their way back to the bus for the final stop.
Ending where it started, The Galaxy at Polaris and stop sponsor The Waterworks met everyone with charcuterie, subs, treats and more in their inviting community area. Attendees could view the game room, pool and greenspace with firepits or travel to the sixth-floor rooftop and event space. Units featured balcony space and one- or two-bedroom layouts with counter seating and generous closets and baths.
When attendees were finished touring, they enjoyed time recounting the day, talking with colleagues and winding down. Many left with several treats and gifts generously donated by the communities and sponsors.
This is one of the most talked about CAA events of the year and this time was no different. If you missed it, keep an eye out when the Bus Tour returns in 2027 with new properties and amenities to highlight. This event brings members together in a rare way fostering community among members both as tour stops on the bus. Together communities and attendees work to showcase properties, amenities and learn about new things all while helping to move multifamily housing in Central Ohio forward. Thank you to our Sponsors!
