CAA Community Assistance Foundation Announces 2025 Recipients
Since its formation in 1999, the Community Assistance Foundation has been at the philanthropic heart of the Columbus Apartment Association.
Guided by a mission to provide meaningful aid to nonprofit organizations in the central Ohio region, the Foundation awards grants to local organizations focused on housing stability, wellness, resilience, and community uplift. The Foundation is made possible by the generosity of CAA members who contribute through events like our Golf Outing, Reverse Raffle, and Bowling for Charity Luncheon.
This year’s grant recipients were recognized at our Leadership Installation & Celebration dinner on December 11, 2025. We are proud to support these worthy organizations making a difference every day in our community and shine a light on their important work.
Families Flourish
Families Flourish offers a powerful model of support designed to break cycles of poverty and build long-term stability for working families. Their three-year program combines rental support, one-on-one coaching, and workshops that strengthen families’ financial capability, wellness, career paths, and housing stability.
From helping parents navigate obstacles to empowering children to thrive academically and socially, Families Flourish builds a comprehensive support network that enables parents and their children to pursue brighter futures. We applaud Families Flourish for their innovation and lasting dedication to our neighbors.
Huckleberry House
For more than 50 years, Huckleberry House has served as a beacon of hope for youth and families in crisis. Through a continuum of care including 24/7 crisis shelter services, transitional living programs, counseling, and youth outreach, Huckleberry House helps young people find stability and a path forward.
Their holistic approach recognizes that every young person’s story is unique. By meeting individuals where they are, whether through safe shelter, therapeutic support, or community connection, Huckleberry House offers not just programs, but possibilities. We are grateful for their compassionate work and deep impact providing hope for the youth in our community.
Patches of Light
Patches of Light brings comfort and support to families with children facing catastrophic health challenges and financial hardship. By aiding with essentials like utilities, housing costs, transportation, groceries, and more, this organization helps families focus on healing during the most difficult moments of a child’s illness.
Patches of Light exemplifies what it means to be a light for others in need, and we celebrate their compassion and impact.
American Red Cross of Central & Southern Ohio Region
Through disaster relief, emergency preparedness training, blood services, first aid education, and more, the Red Cross is a trusted lifeline in times of crisis and calm. Whether organizing local blood drives, offering CPR or fire safety training, or providing shelter and support in the wake of emergency, the Red Cross’s volunteers and staff exemplify community resilience and care. We are proud to support their efforts and thankful for their courage, service, and steadfast presence in our region.
