Everyone Wins, Beats the Heat at the Annual CAA Golf Outing

The CAA annual Golf Outing was held again this year at the Golf Club of Dublin on Tuesday, June 24. The event was sold out for the third consecutive year and offered a day out of the office for over 140 golfers and sponsors.  Many finding creative ways to beat the near record setting heat as they navigated the course during their round of scramble golf, games, food, and friendly competition.

Golfers were led to their designating starting tees for a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start and continued through the 18 holes around the course visiting with CAA Member sponsors at each hole and at the turn.  Sponsors had games, snacks, popsicles and drinks all while learning a little about each product, service or company before moving on their way.

The CAA would like to give special thanks to Environmental Pest Management for serving as this year’s tournament sponsor.  Golfers started their day with a breakfast sandwich provided by Unified Residential and a Bloody Mary sponsored by M & O Property Solutions.  Birge & Held sponsored the lunch grill at the turn for each golfer and sponsor while Servpro served up rum punch from the Turn Tiki Bar and FABCO sponsored the scorecards, BRG Real Estate sponsored each cart, 614 Contractors entertained on the Putting Green with a putting contest, BMSCat, Chadwell Supply and Foxen sponsored the Awards Reception, and Birge & Held and Greenway Waste and recycling sponsored the prizes.
After a little under five hours of play golfers and sponsors enjoyed drinks and food in the ballroom while waiting for the announcements of the award winners and victors.

CAA Executive Director, Laura Swanson opened the ceremony by thanking everyone for attending and had the privilege of announcing the winner of the 50/50 benefiting the CAA Community Assistance Foundation.  After the draw, Mike Hess of Capital Contracting won the $325 prize generously donating $275 back to the CAA Community Assistance Foundation.  Swanson then moved to announce the winners.
There were three skins among two teams, each skin paying out one third of the $360 pot.  Two were awarded to 614 Contractors and one to the team from CertaPro.  Also awarded were the proximity awards with respective winners: Longest Drive Winners: Morgan Bartkowiak and Connor Yakubov; Longest Putt Winners: Kendra Miller and Tom Spreen and Closest to the Pin: Amanda McCullough and Ian Garafolo.
Next, this year’s CAA Challenge Cup champions were announced. The top two teams were awarded gift certificates and trophies with the winning team not only winning gift cards but also having the privilege of having their name etched into the CAA Cup which will be on display throughout the year at the CAA Office to celebrate winners.

Winning third place with 12 under par is the team of Josh Goad, Ian Garafolo, Pete LaRose and Connor Yakubov.  Ty Lucas, Kevin Rutter, Joe Hoehn and Troy Thimmes took home second with a score of 14 under par and the winning team this year with a 16 under par was the team of 614 Contractors led by Danny Fickel.
The CAA would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Golf Outing.  We look forward to seeing you at a future CAA event.
