Ambassador Program
The Ambassador’s Program was formed to help promote the importance of continued education and the benefits of membership with the CAA. The Ambassadors greet guests, introduce the speakers and sponsors, and serve as a liaison between the membership and the staff.

Independent Owners Group (IOG) programs are primarily intended for the owner of rental properties with 100 units or less. Speakers are brought to monthly evening meetings to address the IOG members unique property management needs.

Legislative Advocacy
The CAA has a nationally recognized Governmental Affairs program that provides advocacy for apartment owners. Through affiliation with the Ohio Apartment Association (OAA) and the National Apartment Association (NAA), CAA members have extremely active legislative and regulatory representation at both the state and national levels.
Membership Directory
The multi-family industry’s “yellow pages”, the annual Directory is a who’s who guide to owners, management companies, properties and products and services provided throughout the CAA.
Mentoring Program
This program was developed by a group of your peers who have volunteered to help newer members become familiar with the CAA membership. These volunteers facilitate introductions and interaction with decision makers and fellow members at General Membership Meetings (VIP seating) and all other CAA events.
Orientation Program
This program has been implemented to uncover the expectation level for becoming a new member and to help all new members achieve their goals for joining the CAA.
Workers’ Compensation Group Rating Plan
In 1992, the CAA formed a group rating plan which results in savings for eligible members. The Columbus Apartment Association endorses CareWorks Consultants, Inc. (CCI) because they help members achieve the best workers’ compensation discounts available. The CAA offers dynamic education programs designed to meet the needs and future of the multi-family housing industry. Many of these programs provide nationally certified designations by the National Apartment Association (NAA):
Special Events
Annual Installation of Officers
Held in December, this festive annual event is where the most recognized multi-family housing professionals in Central Ohio gather and celebrate the induction of officers for the upcoming year. It’s a wonderful occasion to network with peers and decision makers.
Bowling Luncheon
The bowling event is an opportunities for CAA members to come together and benefit the CAA Community Assistance Foundation. All proceeds benefit the Foundation and member companies are encouraged to bring a team and enjoy lunch while bowling. The event is held in February and teams and sponsorships go on sale in December.
Central Ohio Multi-Family Conference and Exposition
This is the largest multi-family industry exposition in Ohio and it is also the most significant revenue generator for the CAA. Held every spring, this is an exciting and dynamic occasion for Primary Members to visit 95 exhibitors and to attend “hot topic” seminars plus there are prizes, networking opportunities, knowledge sharing and more.
Golf Outing Held in August, the annual Golf Outing is one of CAA’s most popular events. Over 150 Primary and Associate Members come out for a day of fun in the sun. The 18 holes are sponsored by Associate Members. A foursome team package is available to Primary Members. Invite your employees to join you for a day on the course. Foursomes go on sale in June.
Reverse Raffle
The Reverse Raffle is a spirited event held every November where you can mingle with fellow CAA members, eat delicious food, win a prize or two and “give back” to the community. One hundred tickets are sold and the last one holding a ticket wins $2000. All proceeds benefit the CAA Community Assistance Foundation. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Networking Opportunities
General Membership Meetings
During the year, the membership comes together to share lunch and hear CAA business, event and educational updates. A keynote speaker provides you with information on current events within your community and topics related to the multi-family industry. This is an ideal event for networking and name recognition.
Meet and Greet
There is a “Meet and Greet” session prior to every General Membership Meeting at 11:30 am. This is another opportunity for newer members to come together with veteran CAA members to discuss membership opportunities, industry news and to get to know your leadership and peers within the CAA.
VIP Seating
Don’t get lost in the crowd! There are “VIP” tables at every General Membership Meeting for newer members and anyone else who wants to eat lunch with volunteers from the Membership Committee, Ambassador Program, Associate Council, and Executive Committee.
Work Groups
The CAA asks for member volunteers for a variety of Work Groups including: Expo, Golf Outing, Reverse Raffle, Bowling, Membership and Education. Volunteers network, share ideas and experiences all while supporting CAA events.

Community Assistance Foundation
The CAA Community Assistance Foundation, a 501(c3) corp. was created to more closely link CAA to charitable activity to foster the growth and development of your local community. Your contributions through Trade Show, Golf Outing, and Reverse Raffle participation provide revenue to the Foundation’s annual giving program.
National Apartment Association (NAA)
When you join the CAA, you also become a member of the National Apartment Association (NAA). You receive a monthly subscription to national industry publication, Units magazine. The CAA has joined forces with NAA and the National Multi-housing Council (NMHC) to work on your behalf with the Congress and other representatives on a national level.
Ohio Apartment Association (OAA)
Your CAA membership also gives you an affiliation with the Ohio Apartment Association (OAA). The OAA is comprised of various representatives from CAA and other apartment associations throughout Ohio. The OAA employs a governmental affairs representative so your voice can be heard to State Senators, Representatives and the Governor’s office.
