CAA Reverse Raffle Ends in Winner Take All Finale
The 2023 CAA Reverse Raffle, benefiting the CAA Community Assistance Foundation, once again brought high-energy and high stakes as the excitement reached its peak in anticipation of who would take home the $2,000 Grand Prize. This year’s event was held again at Woodland’s Backyard on Thursday, November 2 with attendees enjoying food, drinks, camaraderie, and a chance to win an additional, unique prize, a liquor basket valued at $400 worth of alcohol and accessories.
The evening began with cocktails, sliders and boisterous conversation before settling into the main affair. Danny Fickel with 614 Contractors returned as emcee and welcomed everyone, thanking them for their generosity throughout the year making the Community Assistance Foundation awards possible.
After a review of the Raffle rules everyone was ready to get underway for the rapid-fire elimination of numbers culminating in the Grand Prize. But first, the “Grand Prize Loser” went to the Buckeye Real Estate who won back their $125 ticket price for the second straight year by being the first number eliminated from contention. Attendees enthusiastically watched as numbers were quickly removed from the board. While there is obvious disappointment in not being the final winner, 14 non-winning attendees received one of the consolation door prizes generously donated by event sponsors.
When only five numbers remained: BRG Realty Group, LLC, Multifamily Utility Company, Peak 10 Group, Schottenstein Real Estate Group, and Steve Gladman, they were called forward to discuss whether to split or continue. However, the rules stipulate that a designee must be present to win, therefore Multifamily Utility Company and Schottenstein Real Estate Group were eliminated. Leaving just three to determine whether or not to split the $2,000 prize or continue. While deliberating the final playing cards were drawn for the liquor basket with Cathy Frederick, Servpro, was the last card standing taking home the prize.
With a unanimous decision, the final three discussed and voted to continue the drawing. The next number removed belonged to Peak 10 Group eliminating them from contention. With another round of consideration, the final two, decided to continue to the final draw. With the second to last ball removing Steven Gladman from contention BRG Realty Group, LLC was declared the Grand Prize winner with Kendra Miller accepting on their behalf.
The CAA Community Assistance Foundation would not be able to provide outreach to charities without participation from members at events like the Reverse Raffle. The Foundation Board would like to thank everyone for their donations by purchasing a ticket, door prize or sponsoring the event. Congratulations to this year’s lucky winners.
